I bought this bike twenty years ago for $719.99 from Two Wheel Transit. What fabulous adventures we had together! I became sick a few years later and I always thought I would get stronger and be able to ride once again. But that is never going to happen, so I’m hoping this could work for somebody else. If by chance you wear a 7.5 cycling shoes, then the Suimana shoes are included. (I usually wear an 8-8.5 shoe) Slight tear on right back side of seat as shown
Key Specifications (Typical for the model year)
The Trek 1000 was an entry-level road bike made from Alpha SL Aluminum and was generally available in a "Women's Specific Design" (WSD) version with slightly different geometry.
• Frame Material: Alpha SL Aluminum
• Fork: Bontrager Carbon (blades)
• Wheel Size: 700c (with 700x25c or 700x28c tires)
• Frame Size: 54cm (considered a medium size in some women's sizing or a standard size in a unisex line)
• Color: The bike was available in various colors depending on the year; black was a common option.
• Drivetrain: Typically featured a Shimano Sora/Tiagra mix, often with a triple crankset (3x8 or 3x7 speeds).
• Brakes: Dual-pivot rim brakes.
Women's Specific Design (WSD)
Trek offered a 1000 WSD model, which was designed with women's specific geometry, including different sizing increments and fit characteristics compared to the standard (unisex) model. A 54cm frame on a WSD model might fit differently than a 54cm on a standard model. Trek's current sizing guide suggests that a 54cm frame generally fits riders in the 5'4" to 5'7" (163-170 cm) range, depending on inseam and specific model geometry.
