A piece of Ivy League history landed in Spokane — and it can be yours for a fraction of what it costs new.
This is an official Yale University commemorative armchair made by Nichols & Stone Co. of Gardner, Massachusetts — the premier maker of university Windsor chairs since 1857. Their original label is on the underside (Model 805-857). These chairs are no longer in production — Nichols & Stone closed in 2008 — making every one a finite collectible.
Traditional Windsor spindle-back captain's chair in black lacquer with hand-painted gold accent rings and natural hardwood armrests. The Yale "Lux et Veritas" (Light and Truth) crest sits in gold on the curved top rail. The kind of chair you see behind the desk in a distinguished home office, a law firm corner office, or a professor's study.
These chairs retail for $695 NEW from Yale's official merchandise supplier. This one is in excellent pre-owned condition for less than half that price.
Dimensions: 33.5"H × 22.5"W × 21.5"D
Perfect as a graduation gift for a Yale alum, a home-office statement piece, or just a beautifully made traditional chair with a serious pedigree.
