Purpose: To provide leadership for the church's ministry of spiritual formation and outreach to children and their families.
Qualifications:A genuine, generous and contagious relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Familiarity with the Bible, and desire to bring Its life-giving message to kids. Strong up-front leadership skills, with experience leading large groups as well as smaller classes of kids. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Experience with volunteers, coordinating and supporting them as they have successful interactions with kids. Background in education, children's ministry, or related work. College degree is preferred. Physical ability to lift small children and lead vigorous activities. Willing to innovate new programs, approaches and ideas.
Responsibilities: Organize and energize ministries to and with children in the church. Sunday morning classes at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Seasonal celebrations such as Rally Day, Harvest Festival and Christmas Program, Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School (125), Day Camp at Camp White in Post Falls, ID. (Two separate weeks for younger and older kids.) Work within budgetary, time and resource limitations, administrative responsibilities, adhere to child safety policies, keep records of attendance, volunteers, manage children's ministry budget, arrange child care for church events, manage camp scholarships
general administrative organization, leadership development, recognize and recruit teachers and leaders for children's programs, provide volunteer training, assess effectiveness and provide constructive feedback, coaching, or reassignment so volunteers are serving effectively. Serve the children of the community as well as the church,
liaison between the Co-op Preschool and the church, connect with the West Valley School District, local churches and other area organizations to support and serve kids and families in our neighborhood, pursue innovation in children's ministry to serve evolving needs and find new ways to engage children and their families with the gospel.
Evaluations: There is a six month probationary period, and then performance reviews will be conducted annually by the Pastor and the HR Team.

This is a .75 time, 30 hour per week position, and includes a stipend for medical insurance. Candidate may also apply for the .25 position as Director of Star Club if full time employment is desired. This is our after school program for neighborhood kids, 2 days a week.
Start Date: This position is available immediately. Current director is available for orientation and training.
