This hit and run took place on Friday, December 16, 2016 at or about 1240 hours PST, at 2004 E Rowan Avenue (corner of N Martin Street and E Rowan Avenue). The woman recklessly driving the black Chevy Impala (early 2000's), four door, sports wheels and an air foil (wing) on the trunk slammed into the back of my daughters PARKED Ford Explorer pushing it into my Ford Explorer. There were no plates on the front or rear of this vehicle. I was advised her vehicle, the Explorer, has a severely bent frame and is not economically repairable. The damage to both of our SUV's is in excess of $10,000.00, which is more than the value of both vehicles.

The woman driver, in her early to mid-twenties, backed up after slamming into the 2002 Ford Explorer and drove off east bound on E Rowan Avenue, ran the stop sign at N Crestline Street turning south. She cut in front of a vehicle nearly causing another wreck.

I immediately contacted the Spokane Police Department. The female SPD employee emphatically stated because it was a "hit and run there was nothing we can do. Contact your insurance company!" Unless I provided her with the license number or the identification of the driver (a little hard since it was a hit and run) they would not send anyone out to take a report or a copy of the security video(s). If this crime is to be solved, according to the SPD, we must solve it ourselves (so glad we pay taxes for the SPD to "protect and serve")!

The black Chevy Impala sustained substantial right, frontend damage. The auto shop mechanic informed me yesterday in order to cause the amount of damage to the rear of the 2002 Ford Explorer her vehicle (Impala) will also require substantial repairs. We are asking for anyone who may have seen a black Chevy Impala with the described damage to comment here. There was an additional eye witness (driver of the red Ford crew cab seen in the video). If you know this person or are this person please comment here.

Anyone who can help us we would be very grateful. If you work at a car lot, auto shop, tire store, body shop, or mechanic shop, please keep an eye out for this vehicle and/or driver. This woman needs to be caught, you may be her next victim and the SPD will not help you either!
