Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our growing construction company in Post Falls, Idaho. The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and assist management with financial reporting and job costing.
This role is critical to ensuring accurate tracking of expenses, payroll, and project costs in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping
• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).
• Record and reconcile all financial transactions including income, expenses, and bank activity.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Accounts Payable
• Process vendor invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and project budgets.
• Schedule and process payments in a timely manner.
Accounts Receivable
• Prepare and send customer invoices.
• Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate customer account records.
Job Costing & Project Tracking
• Assist with job costing and project expense tracking.
• Allocate labor, materials, and subcontractor costs to specific projects.
• Support management with project profitability reporting.
Compliance & Documentation
• Maintain organized financial records for auditing and tax purposes.
• Assist with sales tax filings, payroll tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure company financial practices follow standard accounting procedures.
Qualifications
• Experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in the construction or contracting industries.
• Knowledge of job costing and project accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
