When we purchase this 25+ yrs ago we were told that it came from a local barber shop around the 1950s. The Ypsilanti Reed and Fibre Furniture Company began operations in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1901. The company was known for the production of quality maple and rattan furniture. In 1904 the company moved to Ionia, Michigan, and remained in business there as the Ypsilanti Reed and Fibre Furniture Company until 1942. This piece was manufactured sometime between 1905&1941. The seat cushions are original but have been recovered.
