We bought the Vandalorian in December 2019 from one of the US Olympic Ski team Doctors! The Vandalorian has been a wonderful vehicle for us. We have traveled all over the PNW, down into California and through Utah and Colorado. She has provided countless hours of family adventure! Alas, our children are growing up and we are on to new adventures, like college!
The good:
Reliable Mercedes diesel engine.
144 wheel base, easy to drive and can park in a regular parking spot.
Mileage 138,500: mostly highway and byways.
Very little off-road, although the Vandalorian is more than capable!
Conversion done by Outside Van in Portland, OR. Great set up with four captains chairs, queen sized bed with memory foam mattress, solar and plenty of storage! Also comes with original bench seat with seat belts for 7!
Maintenance done at Mercedes of Liberty Lake or Lake City Auto in Hayden
All recalls have been taken care of by Mercedes
Comes with 4 studded snow tires, mounted. Used for 1 season with 95% left on them.
Drives like a dream! Best view of the country is through the front window!
MPG is decent 16-20 if you are traveling at highway speeds. At 55-60 mph the MPG goes up to 24-26.
Can be converted back to a cargo van in minutes by pulling the center captains chairs and bedding system.
Great for skiing, fishing, car camping, long trips, fun nights, boondocking, tailgaiting, general frivolity, sporting events, moving your friends etc
Comes with propane stove, convertible chuck box (turns into a small table and has plates, cups, utensils and cook set), bedding (air mattress plus 3 inch memory foam, it's like sleeping in a hug!)
Espar diesel heater (it is so hot, I stayed in the van when the temperature dropped to below 0. I turned on the heater and it got to about 85 inside the van!)
200w solar system.
Insulated window covers
Double vents for cooling and fresh air.
Fiamma F65s Awning.
The Vandalorian will go almost anywhere she has ground clearance and traction!
The less good:
She isn't perfect. Has some dings and scratches. Most can be buffed out. Some can not.
One of the vents was broken by a renter on Outdoorsy and has yet to be fixed. It remains closed.
The control panel for the Espar heating system is in Chinese. This is great if you speak Chinese, which I don't. So I just turn it on when I need it and off when I don't!
One of the leg for the Fiamma awning needs to be replaced. As do the mounts on the side of the van.
The radio doesn't have bluetooth and could use an upgrade. We just used bluetooth portable speakers.
The bed sleeps 2 adults and a small child (my wife and kids always slept there and I slept in a tent or under the stars), or a few small children. It starts to get cramped when the kids start to grow.
No plumbing/no toilet (although I have a small portable toilet for emergencies I will throw in, brand new in box!)
Small chip in the windshield.
Minor stain and tear on captains chairs in the middle. Both were there when we bought the van.
The great:
We put the van on Outdoorsy for 3 seasons. Without any advertising or promoting the Vandalorian brought in about $10k a summer. I believe it could do a lot more! I just didn't have the time to monitor and promote it.
We love the Vandalorian! We have had some many great adventures that we will be sad to see her go. We also know it is time for new adventures with a new family. If you are that family, reach out and we would be more than happy to answer any questions. Serious inquiries only please. We are open to reasonable offers. More pictures upon request.
