James A. Sewell and Associates, LLC is currently recruiting for a full-time Land Surveyor in Training to support our Newport, Washington office. This is not a remote position.
JAS is an established Structural/Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm with offices in Newport, Spokane and Colfax, WA and Sandpoint, ID. JAS has been providing quality services in Eastern Washington and North Idaho since 1919. We pride ourselves on client satisfaction, which is realized through providing a quality product combined with cost efficiency. The size of our firm allows us to develop close relationships with our clients, while providing expertise and dedication to every project. JAS provides civil and structural engineering, land surveying, land use planning, building inspection, construction inspection and materials testing. Our professionals work on a broad range of projects.
The candidate shall be comfortable working with clients and team members on diverse surveying projects, including but not limited to: site plans, topographic mapping, record of surveys, plats, floodplain elevation certificates, processing field points, construction staking, etc.

Qualifications include: Land Surveyor in Training certificate is required, Bachelors of Science Land Surveying Degree from an accredited college is required, 2-Years of recent AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting experience preferred, experience with Robotic and GPS equipment preferred, survey field crew experience preferred, good communication skills, attention to detail, interest in learning and growing and ability to work as part of a team.
