It is a 212cc motor. Cranks out 61/2hp and 2500rpm. The cool thing about the motor is the massive availability of aftermarket support to upgrade if you feel so inclined. For very little money you can get it to 20+ horsepower and 3800rpms. Not that there's anything wrong with the way it is now. It's very solid. It's only 8 months old. The shaft is very rugged and the prop has never been entangled or caught up. Fishin' in the lily pads, weeds and reeds is not a problem. My line is the only thing to ever get snagged. But I'm positive my lures plot against me(lol).
