Black Australorp Chickens produce about 250 to 300 large brown eggs per year, mostly without artificial lighting or heat. These girls are just about ready to start laying. They live outdoors and are friendly. Black Australorp chickens are considered a dual purpose (meat and egg production), and are great free-range or homestead adaptable, as they rarely go broody.
They were hatched about six months ago and will be ready to start laying this spring. All birds are vaccinated against Marek's Disease and are fed Wood's Hay & Grain feeds produced locally. I have about 15 girls available.
The breeding stock are descendants of Greenfire Farms original imports and are considered a Heritage Breed of Chicken.
Farm is NPIP and AI free, operated by a veterinarian. Located in Careywood, Idaho with delivery to Post Falls available.
