Whiskey is a 5yo qh mare who stands at about 14.2 h She was started in May of last year and has turned into a great horse. She catches very very easy, ties, stands, stands for saddling and bridling and feet, stands for mounting, can mount from both sides, lunges, free lunges, backs up both on ground and under saddle, walks, trots and canters under saddle, and transitions down from each gate, stops very well, steering gets better every ride, and she is started out on the trails. She has experienced heavy underbrush, ditches, hills, crossing small creeks, logs, dogs, riding with a dog, atvs, dirt bikes, cars, steep hills, deer, grouse startles, electric gates, mud, puddles, standing in the middle of nowhere, dismount and remounts on the trail, bridges, gravel roads and concrete. She rides out alone very well.
Whiskey is very very smart and retains lessons and information very very well. She learns very quickly and she has flown through her training with flying colors. Whiskey would make a great barrel or gaming horse or just a pleasure trail or even hunting/outback horse. Although she has been amazing so far, she is still green and needs someone who has experience with young green horses to keep up her training until she is grounded in it. I have moved slowly through her training, moving at her comfort level and only pushing her when I know she will succeed. Therefore she has enjoyed her training and we have an amazing relationship.
Whiskey is for sale starting at $6000 but I am going to continue training her multiple times a week once spring comes. Her price will go up in the spring.
