This is a Duncan & Sons handmade western stock saddle of lighter weight and size for riders of smaller stature than the Hunter model would accommodate. With a 14 inch seat formed over a stout rawhide tree this is the most secure and comfortable back country saddle my wife ever used. Typical of the exceptional craftsmanship, materials and design that Duncan & Sons Saddlery was known for, the leather, hardware and rigging on this stock saddle is built to the highest standards. Even the stirrups are fully fitted with stamped designed leather. Although it was made in the late 60's and has logged hundreds of mountain trail miles it has been very well maintained and is in excellent condition with supple and strong leather. The nicely made breast collar comes equipped with an over neck strap that has dual attachment rings on each side of the chest. This prevents shifting and chaffing on the horse with the breast collar while climbing steep mountain trails. The rear cinch is wide and attached to the front braided cinch with an easy to use Hubbard snap. All of the fleece on the underside of the skirts is thick and well attached.
Price - $650 which includes the pad and strong wooden saddle tree.
