Needing a good mountain ranch horse - $1,000 (Spokane)

I know that this is probably a long shot, but, I need to try and see what happens.
I need a good farm and trail horse, and I need her / him asap. There's a catch, though - I need a free 5 month care lease at my home, with the intent that this spring I will purchase her / him.
I live on a mountain and very soon will not have my truck any more - it's a long story I don't want to post here. It isn't bad, it's just .. sad.
I am suited for a good, well seasoned farm (plow) & trail (mountain) horse that will carry and pull a sled / cart with us down and behind us up a mountain road and around town twice a week. This is a real life situation straight out of a 100 year old lifestyle.
I am asking for a free 5 month full care lease because of how my income works currently. I am going to be too broke to purchase until this spring, but I can't wait until spring. I am willing to trade collateral for you to hold onto until purchase is made, and a contact will be signed & notorized.
I already have a horse that I'll never part with, but she is too green and too skittish to be safe for me to ride for this purpose at my age. She came to me as an older and very emotionally damaged mustang, and I decided to just be her friend and not ask more than basic trust from her for the last nearly ten years so we can do things like just take naps together.
What this means is that I do know what a horse costs to keep and properly care for. I feed orchard hay, teff hay, timothy hay, oats, barley, flax, hemp, and Redmond real salt, plus fruits & veggies. I don't do shoes; trims are every five weeks.
I have just enough resources for winter supplies and a little surplus for emergencies (which this is) to see us through .. as long as I can keep making trips into town and back.
I really need a horse that is capable and knows what to do but is not in use that would appreciate a job again. I also need a healthy, solid, sturdy horse without conformation issues (I can't be on the mountain on a horse with bad legs or a bad back that's in pain as we go along). I know that well trained and well formed horses can be expensive, but I also know there are some horses out there that are retired early, bored, and eating up money without good reason, that someone is alright with parting with for a greater good.
This spring, my quarterly income will be refreshed and I will have funds to work with, but this can't wait or I may not make it until spring.
Right now, a good 'parade safe' mountain horse is needed by, and best for, this old, retired rodeo girl. If you can help me locate one, thank you.
