POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Operations Manager plays a key role in advancing LINC’s mission to support community-focused farms, sustainable agriculture, and local economic development in the Inland Northwest.
Reporting to the Food Enterprise Director, this position works closely with the Sourcing Manager and Sales Director to ensure local food is efficiently received from farmers, stored, packed, and delivered to community partners. The Operations Manager supervises an operations team of approximately five staff.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Operations Manager oversees daily food hub operations, including warehouse, fulfillment, and delivery activities. This role supports efficient product flow from local producers to customers and community partners while maintaining a safe, organized, and effective operations environment. Other duties as assigned.
Operations Management
-Supervise and support the Operations team in partnership with the Food Enterprise Director, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
-Develop weekly operations schedules
-Represent Operations in cross-team communication and coordination within the Food Enterprise
Product Intake
-Coordinate product intake from local producers, including receiving, inspecting, and inventorying food during scheduled intake windows
-Safely operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
-Organize warehouse storage and maintain efficient product flow
Order Fulfillment and Delivery Coordination
-Oversee fulfillment for LINC Box, wholesale customers, and food relief partners, including packing preparation and staging deliveries.
-Prepare delivery routes and trucks, dispatch drivers, and serve as a backup non-CDL driver as needed.
Inventory and Systems Management
-Lead weekly physical inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records in software systems.
-Collaborate with sourcing and sales teams to resolve inventory issues and forecast product needs.
-Support development and improvement of systems related to inventory tracking, packing workflows, food safety, and routing.
Warehouse Maintenance
-Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
-Coordinate purchasing of warehouse supplies, equipment, and infrastructure improvements.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
2+ years managing a team in a warehouse environment
Effective communication skills
Computer proficiency
Ability to adapt to challenges in real-time and problem-solve with teammates
Ability to regularly lift 60 pounds, with the potential to work up to increased weight
Ability to stand/walk for 5+ hours during packing activities
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience driving delivery trucks, operating lift gates, pallet jacks, forklifts
Familiarity with warehouse environments
Physically able to maneuver pallets containing 2000+ pounds
Ability to track and execute projects involving multiple variables
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
Experience with cooperatives, farming, brewing, food hubs, or deliveries, etc. is beneficial
General reliability and flexibility
DETAILS:
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri
Hours will vary with a general schedule of 8am-3:30pm, M-F
Starting at $25.13/hour with guaranteed annual raises
Hours will take place at our warehouse in Spokane Valley and on the road during deliveries
