Never thought I'd ever part with this set-up, but getting older and don't play out as much, and don't have it in me to haul around such weight. So....
Had local amp Guru Don Myers (Sandpoint) go through this thing a couple years ago. He put in new, real Jensen speakers (120 watts/8 ohms each!!), replaced some caps, replaced power cord, dialed in etc etc. I had his hand-drawn schematic and receipt around somewhere, but danged if I can locate it. This is the earlier, more desirable late 70s circuit. With the new speakers, this thing is just plain amazing, and the Jensens mellow the tone a bit, making the typical JC "icepick" sound go away, even at LOUD volumes. Clean, loud, takes pedals great, and the chorus...unbelievable! True stereo.
Also have the best EWI Tour case I could find for it with large casters. Built like a tank! I don't gig much anymore, but when I do, it's usually with a smaller, LIGHTER, tube amp.
This amp has a clean bill of health, and is ready for another 40 years of blowing minds. I have a 2x12 custom Carvin cabinet wired in stereo (Don Myer again), with brand new Celestion K100s in it that pairs well with the JC120. With both hooked up, be prepared to have the guitar players in the audience wondering what kind of stereo magic you have going on behind the curtains. The speakers were bought from and broke in by Avatar Speakers in Cda. Have a custom-ordered Tough Box road case for the Carvin 2x12 too.
The ultimate road-ready bundle!
$1350 for just the JC120 and road case.
$400 for the stereo Carvin 2x12 and case.
Get it all for $1550.
Prices firm, as I have wayyyyyy more into it than what I'm asking for. Open to trades...home protection, studio mics, Les Pauls, 335s etc. Always stored in my studio, in their respective cases, and under cover. Yes...I'm anal as hell and take VERY GOOD care of my gear!
