This is a 100-watt Boss Katana MKII amp head (Gen. 2). It provides five amp models ranging from super clean Acoustic to high-gain overdrive. I’ve owned several solid-state amps over years, and this is the only one I've bothered to keep.
There are separate controls for Gain, Volume, and Master Volume. Tone can be shaped with a 3-band equalizer and separate Presence control. A Cabinet switch selects speaker emulation for Vintage, Modern, or Deep.
Power can be selected at 100-watt, 50-watt, or even 0.5-watt for bedroom practice.
It offers fantastic onboard effects (Boost, Compression, Chorus, Flange, Phaser, Delay, Reverb, to name a few). Top panel controls can select effects and effect levels, but the free Boss Tone Studio app allows extensive tweaking of effect selection, effect parameters, and even the signal chain layout. The two parametric EQs in Tone Studio are incredible for customizing tones to a guitar’s pickups.
Back panel connections include MIDI, Effect Send/Return, Direct Out (to sound board or mixer), and USB (Boss Tone Studio or DAW recording).
The 12-inch speaker is an 8-ohm, 150-watt, Eminence Hempdog in a 7-ply Baltic birch plywood open-back cabinet with metal grill covers and corners. The enclosure measures 19-1/2 inches wide, 14 inches deep, and 22-1/2 inches tall, and it weighs about 50 lbs. Speaker cables and roll-around stand are included.
The amp package includes a custom-made vinyl cover for the speaker enclosure and a Boss vinyl cover for the amp head.
The amp and speaker are in excellent condition and have never been outside my music room. I’m forced to sell it fast to make room in my basement.
This will have to be a cash-only sale. Also, for security reasons, I will only communicate through Craigslist mail relay. Please don’t respond by asking me to text you or call you, because I will ignore such responses. Thanks for understanding.
