The Hohner Koch is an unusual chromatic harmonica because it offers a level of versatility not found in many other chromatics. It is tuned to sound a lot like Hohner’s classic 1896 Marine Band at first. However, put the slide in and everything changes. You can play everything from blues to classics on this little gem. It’s like having two harmonicas for the price of one. Another great thing about the Koch is that it’s extremely sturdy and has some weight to it. It has heavy chrome plated covers, brass reed plates, non-valved, 40 reeds with excellent intonation. This harmonica purchased in the late 50s or early 60s comes in the original protective case. It is generally reliable and has a very nice tenor tone.
This model is no longer made and has become somewhat collectable.
