This is Jack. He is 3 years old. His breed is unknown. Though we know hes a mix. He was my grandpa's dog, and sadly my grandpa has passed. We are looking to rehome him due to several reasons.
Jack was rescued as a pup around 4 months old and we suspected abuse. He has become a very loyal and fierce protector. But he does not do well with punishment. He is very kind and loving with people he knows, but is very stand offish with those he doesn't trust. He is gentle with children. In fact he loves them.
However he is not friendly with dogs, cats, chickens or any other smaller animals. He has been known to make a snack out of them. I strongly suggest you have no other pets.
He will be a bit of a project dog. He has no formal training, though he knows some basic things like jack come, go home, load up, and a few others. He is used to having property and lots of freedom. An apartment would not be a place for him.
My grandpa never left him home alone. He is used to having company pretty much all the time. He will chew things if alone and anxious. He needs gentle structure and help with commands and respecting boundaries. He is not a bad dog, infact hes very sweet. But with no training, lots of freedom and a bad past he has acquired some aggression issues and some naughty behavior. He has such potential to be a great and loyal companion. He just needs some help getting there. He needs a very kind person with abundant patience.
