Found at approximately 1:30 am a week ago Wednesday morning on Upper River Dr in the Minnehaha Trailheads parking lot. No collar. Not chipped. Clean, groomed, nails trimmed. She knows basic commands, rides perfectly in the car and walks great on a leash. Very smart and loves to run and play fetch. She's definitely lost and very sad. Always looking for something or someone. Does not do well with other animals and barks at anyone she does not know but has not attacked anyone since we found her. Once she gets comfortable with someone she's nothing but kind and gentle. Treats and playing fetch are the way to her heart. We can not keep her as we are not in a position to care for her. She is definitely trainable and needs a bit more training when it comes to other people and animals and ignoring them when out walking. She wants to do good and make her person happy. She clearly is looking for somewhere she feels safe and loved with someone who won't leave her. Has serious separation anxiety. She does not appear to be fixed and may have given birth at some point. We've searched and found no puppies.
We thought that we had found her home, but it wasn't their dog and her foster family has cats which made it not a good fit for her. I DO NOT want to turn her over to the shelter but if I can't find her a safe and loving home I might not have a choice.
If able to give her a forever home please let me know.
UPDATE: Last night she was assessed and vaccinated by Freddie with B's Furry Friends Rescue. (Photo of vaccines given is attached).
