We’re looking for someone to fill the smaller bedroom of our apartment in the heart of northern Park Slope. The bedroom is not the biggest in the world (but it's definitely not the smallest. The common spaces in the apartment are bigger than most in New York and get a lot of sunlight from two skylights.
The apartment is located:
• 7th Avenue between Garfield and Carroll
• Two blocks from Prospect Park
• Within a ten minute walk of many subway lines: the 7th Ave (B/Q), Grand Army Plaza (2/3), 5th Ave/Union St (R), and 7th Ave (F/G) stops
• near a full-sized grocery store on the block and within walking distance of Whole Foods, Lidl, the Park Slope Food Coop, and Mr. Lime
About the apartment:
• 4th floor of a walk-up building (three flights up)
• In-unit full-sized washer and dryer
• One and a half bathrooms
• Large open living room and kitchen with 2 skylights.
• Kitchen includes granite countertops, a large island
• Shared office/library next to living room
• Hardwood floors throughout
• The bedrooms are located in the rear of the apartment so they are quiet.
The bedroom:
• Medium-sized room with a closet
• Dimensions (approximately) 13’ by 7’ and also includes a 3’ by 3.5’ alcove. There is plenty of room for a queen size bed (which is what is in it now) and a few pieces of furniture.
• 2 windows that lead to an air shaft with a skylight at the top. (There is natural light, but the windows do not open to the outside.)
About us:
• 1 male professional, 1 female academic
• 30s
• We like to cook, bake, and read.
• We are generally pretty laid-back, quiet, but friendly.
Things that are important to us:
• Committing to keeping common spaces (especially the kitchen) clean and tidy
• Being communicative about needs and issues
• Smoking and pets are not allowed in the apartment.
• Guests are welcome, but we are courteous about giving each other a heads up when we have visitors and are not looking for a fourth roommate.
Logistical and money matters:
• You’d be committing to living at least through the end of March 2027.
• The landlord requires a credit check and possibly a cosigner.
• You’ll need to pay the first month's rent plus a $1,325 deposit up front.
• You'll pay for 1/3 of utilities:
-Gas - $30-50/month p/p
-Electric - $50-100/month (higher in summer, lower in winter) p/p
-Cable/Wireless Internet - $50/month p/p
If all this sounds good to you, please email us telling us a little bit about yourself, your schedule, and what you’re looking for in roommates.
