I am a 45 year old lady in Libby, Montana seeking an opportunity.
I am currently a live-in maid for a senior couple, the husband has Alzheimer's and doesn't require much personal care, but does have more needs than most. They live in an extremely isolated part of Lincoln County where there is no cell phone service for about 20 miles so limited internet and landline phone are the only point of contact.
I cook and clean for these folks. I do other chores as they arise. They have recently hired a young man who can do more of the physically demanding things so I am seeking a similar opportunity.
I love gardening. When my husband was alive we had an extensive garden with many rare varieties of heirloom vegetables and it was my goal to create my own tomato breed. I don't really know how to can (my husband was the one who did that) but I am happy to learn.
This area has too many memories for me to face right now and I am eager to find a new beginning. I am celibate and just want to be left alone in my widowhood without someone trying to force my legs apart so finding a work in exchange for my keep arrangement has lead to a huge number of very rapey false hopes via Craigslist. I've had a vast number of people offer me "safe and respectful" rooming in exchange for what I'm already doing, only to flip and ask me if I want to "cuddle" or if I enjoy "fingertip caresses." NO. I DO NOT.
I am very interested in herbal medicine and organic food production. I have some experience with both and am always glad to keep learning and improving.
I am a pagan, which has also presented something of an obstacle as a number of the people seeking live-in help have been Christian nationalists who can't abide dissimilar viewpoints. I practice daily meditation, am the sort of person who composts everything and saves seeds.
I have two emotional support dogs. They are 8 and 5 year old Fox Terriers who are my entire world.
I am a very private person, not inclined to having visitors, I do not drink or use drugs but do engage in medicinal 420. I truly love cooking and cleaning and woodwork. I will need to have some car repair done but am looking to make a change in the month of March.
