This is a super cool, one-of-a-kind custom VW roadster! Built from a 1973 VW Beetle chassis that's been shortened about a foot, with a rugged custom metal body – raw, patina'd brown/black finish that turns heads everywhere. It's got that post-apocalyptic dune buggy vibe but fully street-legal as a roadster. Engine: Fresh 1600DP (dual port) rebuild with only ~15 hours run time – starts easy, runs strong, plenty of zip!
Drives great overall: Shifts smooth, stops well, lightweight and fun open-air cruising. Cool setup: Open top with roll bar, black bucket seats, big exposed engine bay, custom fenders, spotlight lights, loud exhaust, mirror, spare tire mount.
Unique feature: Rear section folds/hinges up to make a small pickup-style bed – great for gear, groceries, or even a kid's spot/play area in back!
Bonus extras included: Comes with a full box of assorted VW parts (good spares for maintenance) + the complete original 1600 engine that came with it (extra rebuild candidate or parts source).
Honest disclosures – things that need attention (priced accordingly):Rear tires are starting to split/cracking (dry rot?) – still hold air and drive fine now, but should be replaced soon for safety. Rear wheel seals seep a little oil (minor weep) – common on air-cooled VWs, not a huge leak but worth resealing eventually.
Shift knuckle (shifter linkage) is worn – requires some finesse to get into gears smoothly, but it does go in reliably once you know the feel.
These are typical old-VW quirks and not deal-breakers for a fun driver/project – easy fixes with basic tools/parts (and you've got extras included!). Overall, it's a blast to drive, reliable daily fun, and stands out at shows, cruises, or around town. Serious local buyers only – cash preferred, test drives with cash in hand or deposit. Happy to provide more pics, video of it running/driving, or answer questions. Located near Spokane – come check it out!
if the add is up it still for sale. Also, I don't need help selling it either.
