North Idaho Decks is currently seeking Lead Construction Laborers. We are Licensed, Bonded, and Insured in both Idaho and Washington. If you are a knowledgeable, hardworking, team-oriented, and safety-focused individual, then we invite you to apply!
Ideal candidates for our Crew Lead will have experience in construction and a close familiarity with reading blueprints. Individuals must have a background in carpentry, high-end railing, framing, composite materials, roof covers, and pergolas. Additionally, candidates must own a truck and be willing to use it for work purposes, including moving trailers, making dump runs, and picking up materials for jobs. Crew Leads must have portfolios of previous work with composite materials at the time of interview and 3 professional references. Crew Leads must also provide their own personal hand tools and tool belt prior to starting. North Idaho Decks will provide shirts, sweatshirts, and hats.
Responsibilities:
Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, installing decking and railing, and forming footings.
Utilize hand and power tools to complete construction projects efficiently.
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Follow blueprints and schematics to execute tasks accurately.
Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines on construction sites.
Lead a crew and take responsibility for project accuracy and quality.
Plan, organize, supervise, and inspect the work of skilled and semi-skilled subordinates engaged in repair, alteration, and construction project work.
Verify and inspect delivered materials, ensuring quantities match project plans, checking for damage, and receiving packing lists from delivery drivers.
Notify the owner promptly of any material shortages.
Manage inventory, maintain up-to-date tool and equipment lists, and ensure sufficient stock of frequently used materials.
Notify the owner when replenishment is needed.
Provide daily project updates by sending pictures to the Owner and Office Manager.
Attend daily morning manager meetings with the Owner via video conference or in person.
Review project plans to identify structural issues and prepare material lists for future projects.
Qualifications:
Strong foundation in carpentry and construction.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Experience with heavy lifting and frame carpentry.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Minimum 5 years construction experience.
Minimum 3 years decking experience.
Must own a truck and be willing to use it for work purposes, including moving trailers, making dump runs, and picking up materials for jobs.
Portfolio showcasing previous work with composite materials (required at the interview).
Three professional references.
Personal hand tools and tool belt required.
