Framer Wanted: Move Off the Job Site and Use Your Field Knowledge as an Estimator
We are looking for an experienced framer who wants to transition from the field into a long-term, full-time estimating position.
This role begins with paid, full-time, in-person training in Spokane for 3 months and leads to a stable, full-time, remote work-from-home position for candidates who demonstrate the required skills and fit.
• Paid training: $25/hour
• Post-training pay: $30/hour
• Employees who perform well in this position typically earn $70,000 to $80,000 per year within the first 2 to 3 years
Estimating experience is not required. What is required is a deep understanding of framing, strong blueprint-reading ability, experience using a construction calculator, and exceptional attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of hands-on framing experience
• Thorough understanding of framing methods, materials, hardware, and terminology
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, elevations, sections, schedules, and framing details accurately
• Ability to identify missing information, plan conflicts, and detail discrepancies before work begins
• Experience using a Construction Master or similar construction calculator
• Strong math skills and a habit of double-checking work for accuracy
• High attention to detail and the ability to stay accurate in repetitive, numbers-heavy work
• Ability to follow instructions closely and work within a defined system and workflow
• Able to work independently, stay focused, and consistently meet deadlines
• Comfortable working at a desk for a full workday
• Professional communication skills when clarification is needed
• Comfortable with computers, learning software, and basic troubleshooting
• Dedicated home office space with reliable high-speed internet and room for a computer, drafting desk, and large-format printer
• Able to lift a 25 lb roll of engineering paper
• Must be available full-time and able to attend full-time paid, in-person training in Spokane for 3 months
Who Will Succeed in This Role
This position is ideal for a framer who is highly detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently. The work is deadline-driven, fast-paced, and accuracy is key. The right person will take pride in catching details others miss and producing consistently accurate work.
This is not a general office job. It is a precision position for someone with real field experience who understands how buildings go together and can translate that knowledge accurately from plans to takeoff. This role requires a quick learner who can absorb a defined process, retain detailed instructions, move efficiently through plan sets, and maintain accuracy under deadline.
