As a Non-CDL Dump Truck Driver, you are a vital member of the Circle M delivery team, responsible for safely and efficiently transporting landscape and construction materials to our local customers. Operating our fleet of single-axle dump trucks (with a GVWR under 26,001 lbs.), you will be a key representative of our company, interacting directly with clients at their homes and job sites. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent customer service skills, and a reliable work ethic. This is a seasonal position and would require weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe Vehicle Operation:
Safely operate a single-axle dump truck in a variety of traffic and weather conditions, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
Navigate to residential and commercial job sites throughout the Spokane Valley and surrounding areas.
Expertly operate the truck’s dump bed mechanism to safely and accurately place materials according to customer instructions.
Customer Service:
Provide outstanding customer service upon delivery, acting as a professional and friendly representative of Circle M.
Confirm the delivery location with the customer on-site to ensure materials are placed correctly and safely.
Collect signatures on delivery tickets and process payments if required.
Vehicle Inspections and Care:
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily, in accordance with DOT regulations.
Promptly report any mechanical issues, defects, or necessary repairs to the Fleet Dispatch Manager and Maintenance department.
Keep the assigned vehicle clean and presentable, both inside and out.
Communication and Reporting:
Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Fleet Dispatch Manager regarding delivery status, delays, and completion of jobs.
Accurately complete all required paperwork, including delivery tickets and daily logs.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR will be reviewed).
Must possess and maintain a current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Med Card). This is a federal requirement to operate this class of vehicle.
Proven ability to handle a physically demanding job.
Strong navigational skills and a good sense of direction within the local area.
A reliable and punctual work history with a strong commitment to safety.
Preferred:
Previous experience driving commercial vehicles such as large vans, box trucks, or trucks with trailers.
Prior experience operating a dump truck, flatbed, or similar equipment.
Familiarity with local construction sites and landscape materials.
Physical Demands:
Ability to climb in and out of a truck cab multiple times per day.
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Must be able to walk on uneven terrain at job sites.
Ability to handle and operate levers and controls.
May be required to tarp loads, which involves some physical exertion.
